Jacksonville Area Legal Aid

JALA provides free and low-cost civil legal help to those who financially qualify or are Elderly/Senior (60+), persons with disabilities, Veterans, Ryan White, and survivors of domestic violence including advice and/ or representation. We litigate in the areas of consumer, domestic violence, family law, immigration (asylum/ refugee and other), housing, homestead for heirs' probate,  nursing home transfer and discharge, and fair housing.  We may provide services in creating wills and advanced directives, community development,  pursuing social security disability claims,  VA discharge upgrades, veterans' benefits,  reemployment assistance, and employment matters arising from FMLA.  We offer mortgage counseling solutions and assist with legal needs from our Medical Legal Partnership.
